Izzy’s Imperfect Items began when university student Izzy had a simple idea: to pick up abandoned hair-ties off the ground, clean them out, and turn them into scrunchies. Through that initiative, the business came to be and the rest is history. Izzy began to thrift fabrics and materials to make and sell scrunchies, cutlery pouches, and napkins within the Guelph community. This started with participating in several local markets and grew into selling at zero waste stores across the Greater Toronto Area. Today, Izzy’s Imperfect Items is a sustainable lifestyle brand making home and beauty items entirely from repurposed materials.
Izzy’s team comprises herself, Founder & Owner, Ben, Operations Manager, and Christian, Software Developer. For Ben, sewing is his therapy and he particularly enjoys transforming old, unused materials into something new and useful. Christian is a software developer with interests in web development for social causes.
